    Hey,

I'm looking to replace my HP 6910p fan since it has been noise lately, even though I took it out cleaned and removed all the dust from it and the nearby vents. However, I need to purchase some silver insulating material that lies on top of the fan and the nearby portion of the heatsink. Does anyone know where I can get it from?

The silver material is seen in this video (@ 0:18): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gaD9NxQnG8E

You don't necessarily need that. I see something like this for the first time - most laptops don't have such thing. You can use a normal insulating tape to cover the slit between the heatsink and the FAN - that's what I had been using on my Fujitsu-Siemens for years.
