I got a ROG about a month ago, and yesterday I noticed that the place where I rest my left wrist vibrates slightly - very slightly, barely noticeable.

Also, if I put my head close to that spot I can hear very faint clicking. The clicking goes away when the hard drives and the fan are not idle.

Are these things normal? Thanks in advance.

    *vibration, not vibratio :D~

Edit n.º 2:the vibration is more noticeable when the laptop is placed on a hard surface, and less noticeable when it's on my lap.

Probably the hard drive spinning, so yes, probably normal.

No problem. You could also look up the service manual for that particular model and figure out where the main HDD is located to verify it based on the location of the vibration, if you're particularly worried about it.

I just did - and yep, it's the HDD :) Thanks!

Also, the clicking went away after I disabled. HWInfo... Weird, but hey, whatever works :D

Perhaps you might want to consider replacing your clunky OEM HDD with an HGST. Whisper quiet, reliable, and virtually vibration free.

if its any help, i had a ROG 750JM untill about a week ago. i had 1 hdd and 1 ssd and didnt notice any vibrations or any annoying/disturbing noise. i dont think the vibrations are normal but i can say that it is very loud when you put a CD in the optical disk bay.
