    Hi guys

So I was burning a couple of DVDs today with IMG Burn (great program btw) on my LG P300 with the Slim External DVD Drive and I left it alone on the last DVD I had to record.

Just popped the Blank DVD-R in clicked start and then left to go take a nap.

A little over 4 hours later I come back to find IMG Burn was having problems with the sector or something and had been waiting for me to either cancel or retry (this usually happens and all I have to do is push retry until it starts burning).

I click retry and carry on with the burn as usual (DVD was successfully completed and works) but I'm a bit worried about my Slim External DVD Burner.

The DVD burner was really warm due to it spinning and reading for the entire 4 hours (it doesn't usually get this warm). I'm just wondering how much harm could this have had on my DVD burner?

I went on to burn 3 more DVDs with no problem, did this just to test it out to see if there was any noticeable damage. But I'm still worried :(

Thanks guys for taking the time to answering my questions. Really appreciate the help.

    Jimmy

Unless you have symptoms no reason to worry. Heat is the enemy of all electronics/IC's but I doubt this matters. Doubt it got hot enough and doubt spinning and a little heat matters. Many components when they get overheated shut down. Do not know about external drives but if not broken don't worry.

I mean no disk warp? No sweat?

Nope no disc warps or anything, just a very warm external drive.

    Thanks for the info.
Guess I can stop sweating :D
