    I just purchased a Samsung NC10 notebook.

I am looking for a slim external cd/dvd drive, currently deciding between 2 drives.

    Samsung SE-S084B

    Sony DRXS70U/R

now on the samsung, it is USB powered, is there going to be negative impact on the battery? i am planning on just watching dvds and burning cds

since i am worried about battery draining, i am leaning towards to Sony drive with the ac adapter

    any feedback would be great

    thanks

The Samsung one is far cooler. I would seriously NOT want to be lugging around a laptop, a seperate DVD drive AND a power supply for said dvd drive, and possibly the laptop as well. I'd rather be able to do everything with as few cables as I can. That's just me though. ;)
