    Slow performance with Samsung HM160HC hard drive

    After reading this thread about the fast performance of the Samsung HM160HC EIDE/PATA notebook hard drive, I recently decided to upgrade my HP Pavilion zd7000A. However, HD Tune 2.55 is showing what appears to be a bottleneck of some sort.

    A few times I have gotten the expected fast performance, as seen here:

    But most of the time, I get a bottleneck at 29 MB/sec as seen here:

    Has anyone seen something like this before? Does anyone have any ideas of how to fix the problem?
