    Hi All,
    I am using Sony VPCEB11Fx midel with i3 processor and samsung 320GB SATA HardDisk.I formatted My C drive recently and after complete installation I switch on my vaio and at the boot time it is giving following warning.

    Smart failure predicted on Hard disk.Please back-up your data.press f1 to continue.

    Please help me with this probelm.

    not may... WILL fail soon... if it is under warranty give them a call asap and let them know the harddrive failed a smart test...they should fix it

    Yes, SMART is warning you that the HDD is operating outside of it's normal parameters. Whether it's just bad sectors or it's something else entirely, if SMART is reporting issues, then you can expect the drive to have a much shorter lifespan than normal. It could fail in the next 5 minutes, or sometime next fall... either way Sony will replace it for you, free of charge.
