I guess the question is..is it "the hdd is gonna die soon" bad or "it's just gonna keep randomly hard freezing on you" bad.
Is there anyway I can get more info from the drive about what exactly is failing?
It's a toshiba
edit: mispelled failing, guess there's more than the hdd failing right now.

It will become terminal, no question about it. Be glad you got warning in the form of a failed test and freezing, and back-up your data and replace it.

yeah yeah. that looks nice.
Still I think I'm gonna first try to get HP to send me a replacement hard-drive one more time instead of..say...HP wanting me to send my entire laptop in because "there's 60 screws holding the hard-drive down and a user replacing it voids the warranty"
nevermind the fact that the envy14 was designed to have the user replace the hard-drive with ease (it's in the battery bay)
*sighs* HP customer support can be so horrible.
Hell, I'll take the charge to my credit card so long as they remove it after I send the broken hdd back.
So a hard-drive faling the drive self test is bad right?
