A Socket P CPU will not fit nor work if installed on a Socket M motherboard.

Socket P will fit into a Socket M motherboard and vice versa, but they won't work, because of the totally different electrical pin-out.

The T7300 installed in place of the T2300, will result in a dead system (won't boot on powering on).

Socket P and M have a slightly different Pin-Grid Array (both have 478 pins though) and a different pin-out (due to addition of FSB throttling to Socket P).

The T7200 is Socket M and is almost similar in specs to the T7300.

Bleh, it doesn't really matter, but a Socket P CPU won't fit into a Socket M motherboard, unless you feel like snapping a pin off. Different pins are missing in the socket.

Yeah yeah yeah, my bad. I confused it with Socket 479.
P and M don't fit each other, they each have one pin-hole at different locations.

To elaborate on what Andy and Namaiki have said; this is a bit hard to see since one socket is rotated, but in the lower right corner of the Socket P and in the upper right corner of the Socket M, you'll notice two dead pins... which aren't in the same place.
