Does anyone know the difference? Some late model intel mobile processors
have their socket type listed as either FCBGA6, socket P or both. Are they at all similar/compatible with one another?

Socket P is the latest socket used for Intel mobile processors. Socket P has pins whereas FCBGA has no pins, instead balls. BGA (Ball-Grid Array) processors are soldered onto motherboards, and are not compatible with motherboards that support PGA (Pin-Grid Array) processors.
