    Hi All,

What is the difference between Pentium M socket 1) FC-µBGA and socket 2) FC-µPGA?

It seems each design of chip has 2 variables of chips based on the socket. The Pentium M 725 has 3! as follows...

    wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Intel_Pentium_M_microprocessors

Does anyone know which I would need to replace the 1.6 MHz Pentium M730 in an Acer 8101 WLMi ?

    Many thanks,
    Dizmond

    You need FC-µPGA CPUs.

FC-µBGAs come soldered to the mobo, and cannot be installed in a socket without an adapter.

So, you'll be lookin' for the SL7EG and the SL89T.
