I recently purchased some new Seagate momentus 5400 fde.2 drives to install into my laptops. These drives advertise on-disk based full disk encryption. After copying and installing into one of my laptops I do not have encryption. Additional research leads me to believe that I require software to active this feature on the drive.
I have contacted Seagate (nothing to offer) and Wave systems, a vendor of software for (supposedly) these drives, without any results.
Can anyone recommend either a source for the appropriate software OR a drive encryption program that should install and work under Win XP?
Thanks in advance everyone...

I spent 3 hours on the phone with Lenovo trying to get info out of them and found nothing. Dell has info here: http://support.dell.com/support/top...8A10C41DCD6793E040A68F5B287751&doclang=en&cs=
And you can download the app from Dell (file number R175929), don't know if it will work on a non-dell machine though. And certainly may not be "legal"
Software for full disk encryption?
