I was looking for some software which checks the wear level and gives exact life of the battery. Anything nice like that out there??

    BatteryCare: BatteryCare
It has battery's discharge cycles monitoring.
I hope that helps with keeping the wear level of my battery down.

    I am using batterycare now.
Yesterday I did a discharge cycle and the wear level of battery increased from 10 to 17%. I was shocked. Next thing it shows me is the Calibration performed which is 0.So how can I do that under Win 7?

    From the BatteryCare usage guide:
BatteryCare - Proper laptop battery usage guide
About the increase in wear level:
    See after the full calibration.
Does Batterybar show the same values?

So what's the difference between discharge cycle and calibration anyway?

Nothing. A discharge cycle is fully discharging the battery and then charging it to full. Calibration is simply doing this one or more times in a controlled manner.
