    I was just curious for the performance increase and energy efficiency of the newer solid state hard drives, anyone know any specs?

    What newer SSDs are you referring to? Performance (and capacity) tend to be inversely proportional w/ power consumption, though not always. Lower power consumption doesn't necessarily give you a linear rate of return on battery life. I find PATA SSDs consume a lot less power than SATA ones. Some of the newest ones are from Intel, their MLC X25-M and SLC X25-E. Specs can be found on the Intel website:
