Hi folks! I want to buy a SSD for my new Vostro V13. I don't need much
capacity, it's just a working machine for programing and surfing. So A capacity
about 40 GB is good enough.
Have you guys some good suggestion for me? Thanks!

basically , u need $200 for a proper intel SSD... the other drives are not as reliable as the intel one so i recommend that u save up a little and get the 64GB or 80GB version for the Intel G2 SSD which should be around $200...

IMHO, not really a big deal if the random write speeds are still high. It's not that often that you're going to be doing big, sequential writes, especially to a 40GB disk.

It is either that or you get an older cheap SSD with a JMicron or similar controller that likes to pause up every second or two, or quickly degrade in performance until a hard drive is more useful.

For the price range you're giving us, the 30GB OCZ Agility and the 40GB Intel are really the only good choices.

For an OS drive, it's perfectly fine. Random 4k speeds are great, and that's what makes the OS drive snappy (along with the response time/IOPS). Waiting for these to drop to get one into the wife's lappy, I'm SSD addicted.
