    Both are 12.7mm drives with somewhat similar specs (thought not identical).

    Is one clearly superior?

    Except when they just license their name and have it stamped on someone
    else's product. I found that out years ago with a desktop DVD drive
    that was stamped "sony" and gave me all sorts of problems.
