    Hi there,

    Need help in swapping keyboards for sony VGN S260P. I managed to open the laptop and got to the end in process of separating the keyboard, but no clue how to separate keyboard ribbon cable from motherboard??? Need advice how to separate ribbon cable from main board???

    I'm not familiar with this model, so this advice is based on past experiences. Be very careful and just try to be gentle and experiment a bit with it.

    Well, if you can't just pull it up like standard connector, then I would assume that the brown piece on the board would be a slip cable lock. Just pull gently on the cable at that end and it should just slide out from the brown connector. The cable end will have a plastic slip guide on it when you get it out, that's how it stays in the socket.

    To reinstall, line up the cable and slide it in until secure.
