First post, and YES I have little computer knowledge.
I did some research on how to replace your CD/DVD Optical Drive Bay with a SSD using a caddy. However can I do it using a Vaio VGN-FW480J It seems like the disk drive looks custom made for the sony unibody. ( I'm not even sure if that made sense??!)
Let me know your thoughts, steps, maybe even a link to the correct caddy I need to purchase. I've seen some how-to pages, but YES please link me to more.
Anything helps!!
My main reason for this is to improve speed and boot time for windows 8.
Thanks

Here's a good caddy that should be compatible with your Vaio F:
2nd Drive Caddy for Sony VAIO E & F Series (add 2nd HDD or SSD) [OBHD-SATA12-SATA-BU] - $44.75 : NewmodeUS, Hard Drive Caddys for Notebooks
I have their Thinkpad W520 caddy and it's pretty high quality, though you pay for it (I could have gotten a cheap eBay caddy, but I don't like eBay whatsoever). Link also provides some instruction on how to change them out.
Sony Vaio FW480J Replace Disk drive with SSD. Is this possible?
