Well my Sony Vaio FZ18L has served me well over the last year especially with a clean vista install it has been faultless. Running Cubase 4 for lots lots of onsite multi channel audio recordings.

Problem is my hard drive is now full ( well 5GB off being full)

So I have decide to fit a new one.

I am looking at 400GB where I have a choice or 500GB where there is a choice of 1!

What spec drive do I need I guess SATA2? what RPM? 7200 or 5400? faster better?

Anything else i need to look for?

How easy is it to fit? Do i just remove the cover underneath and a few screws slide it out and fit in the new one?

Assuming that the FZ supports SATA, SATA1 or 2 does not matter.

If you want 500GB go for the WD5000BEVT. It's fast and power efficient.

    7200rpm/500GB drives aren't available yet.
