Sooo with QHD coming out are they going to make quad 1920x1200? I sure hope so because 16:9 blows big time....Also does anyone have a clue what these things will cost? Last thing when exactly are they "supposedly" coming out/start coming out. Oh one last thing, when are graphics cards going to support such a thing? they only support up to 2560x1600

quarter high definition is 960×540, alot of newer phone run it its no big deal,

I think you are talking about WQXGA which was released a few years ago and you need displayport to use or thunderbolt

I was referring to quad HD....was being lazy. GPUs only support 2560x1600 so are they going to release new drivers or release new gpus?

you mean the intel roadmap saying that we would have a 4k res screens? if so... well its a wait and see thing, the intel hd 4000 already supports that res, thus amd and nvidia should follow shortly if the trend is going to be true

its about general availability and when the prices are going to drop, we have started to see SSDs in less than 1gb\ 1U$, it will make general adoption easier, while when it was launched some years ago, I wouldnt dare buying one, now my sister is wondering if she should buy

IMO the only use for quad hd would be to eliminate the need for anti aliasing

???? how so? That doesn't make sense to me. You will always need AA.

So no one has heard anything in an article about prices/timeframe? I thought I hear a year or two from now but I can't remember.

EDIT: I want quad HD so I can have more screen real estate to work with plus I will finally be able to use opera tile!!!! It will be awesome to have 4 pages to access all at once on one screen! plus put 3 screens together muhahahahha

EDIT: lol forgot has anyone heard or think they will make quad 1920x1200 because we all know 16:9 blows :)

ack I was doing some googling and the 4k push is 4096x2160...thats worse then quad HD, which is 3,840x2,160. Why are they trying to make screens even wider!!!! I still dont even want 3,840x2,160 because that is 16:9 and now they want to make it ~17x9 ahhhhh

What is 4K? Next-generation resolution explained | TV and Home Theater - CNET Reviews

EDIT: why wont they stick with 19:10 sigh...4096x2560...now that sounds awesome! quad 2048x1280!

You are unhappy with 2160 pixels of vertical height?

Sincerely looking at the usual multi monitor setup, I can see the push to more wide formats

reason why i want 16:10 in that large of a res is because i would use 3 30 inch monitors for the desktop...the wider the format the less useful it is because it would turn into like a 180 degree setup with a 17:9 lol

yeah yeah the same 16:10 is better blah blah, it was much like when the 4:3 disappeared, if you want 16:10 there is only one guy in the block that does it, apple.

Content is really moving to that area, and work is still quite fine on the 16:9 high res monitor offered, the ones above 1080p I mean or even 1080p is quite fine.

At work I use 6x 23'' 1080p monitors, 1 for news, 2 for graphs, 2 for the trader platform, 1 for all the other stuff like mail, instant messaging...

I also use my mbp in there.
