    Okay.
I received my Lenovo t61. I am very pleased with everything thus far, EXCEPT

    speaker quality and volume level

I am hearing challenged among other social and driving impairments. While having the volumes on the Lenovo cranked all the way up, I am straining my eyes just to hear more.
And, the quality needs some adjust.
Before buying the machine, i had already planned on purchasing a 3 or 5 speaker plug-in system. Yet, on the go, I need some change.

    so:
Is there anything i can do to the laptop itself to boost the sound performance?

    and

What am i looking for in a plug-in speaker system to optimize my home entertainment?

    thanks.
