How good is this Notebook soundcard for a 120 dollar addition? Is it worth it, or am I better of just getting a USB headset with a built in soundcard. I'm used to playing games/listening to music on my Xfi Xtreme Gamer and I'm wondering if they're anything similar? Thanks!

Is this the card which fits into the expressport slot, or is this the cd one?
If its the software based one, dont pay a penny for it, since it is a complete gimmick. Software makes hardware usable, but it cannot creat hardware. The soundcard in your laptop is most likely good enough to play extreme music frequencies, so you should not have any problems. Creative products tend to be very overpriced and offer very minimal gains. You most likely will not notice any difference in sound quality, cause it probably uses the same audio controller which the laptop uses.

I'm sorry, but where are you getting that's $120??? Seriously, buy it from Dell for $70 if you want it. :) Linky.
It's a good card IMHO, I had it, and the sound quality was FAR better than the built-in sigmatel audio. Deeper bass, cleaner sound, it's very well worth it, but not for $120!

I would buy it after you get the laptop, for 1) it will be cheaper, and 2) your laptop may have a great audio card in it, and you may not even need it.
