Hi all. I'm moving soon and will have a dedicataed room for all my toys.

I have an x205 notebook and am trying to decide how I want to set up my speakers in the room . Basically I have a couple options.

The first option is simple. I just purchase Logitech Z-5500 THX-Certified 505-Watt 5.1 Digital Surround Sound Speaker System

The second option is to use my older JVC Home Theater Receiver. Its a relatively high quality receiver with digita inputs and dolby/dts processing. Of course, I'd have to buy speakers for it which would probably cost almost as much as the Logitech setup.

My notebook has the realtek high defintion audio card and a s/spif output but I can buy a converter for a few bucks from amazon.

I will be listening to a lot of music with this setup as well as gaming. I'm not an audiophile but I am pretty picky about listening to music. I've read a lot of good reviews about the logitech rig on Amazon so I think they would meet mys standards. I've also owned he JVC for a year or so and have been pretty happy wih the sound quality of that..

So what should I do... purchase the logitech or buy speakers for my JVC.

Digital is the way to go. It is efficient and higher quality.
Use your existing digital amp and buy some speakers. You only need good speakers for the front channels.
