So I just wanted to ask if anything is wrong with what I just did...

1-I took a little 3.5mm pre-amp hooked it to my laptop

    2-Then I took a headphone splitter

3-Plugged in 3.5mm to RCA cables (with a couple different cables and adapter to make it work in the right Male/Female combination)

4-Then I took my red speaker wire from Philips Speakers and attached it to both the inner pin and the outer shell

5-Then I took my white speaker wire from the other speaker and it to the inner pin

I did so with the RCA cables since the outer wall made everything quiet and it sounded like it was shorting or whatever, wrong polarities

So... these are 6ohm impendance speakers FYI
There isn't any high power going anywhere, just medium sized speakers being driven by 75%-100% laptop volume OR 25%-50% laptop volume AND pre-amp on

I will be getting a better pre-amp (since this one is meant for little tiny portable speakers) or I will make my own Altoid box pre-amp hahaha

Am I doing something wrong here?
    Am I going to die?

Without pics, component list, and a circuit diagram it's hard to tell, but it should work out ok.

I'm assuming that for whatever reason you don't want to go with high-end self-powered speakers and a purpose built store bought cable? Ignoring the drek that is generally sold as computer and gaming speakers, there are loads of very very nice self powered speakers meant as high-end extensions to home theater systems.

All this really is is a tangled functional cable mess...

The only components I used were in this little Philips pre-amp for portable speakers, nothing fancy or technical...

I am planning on getting nice speakers, but I just dug these out of my garage, and they sound pretty nice for my retarded cable mess!

PS: Any explanation on why the RCA red works with inner and outter connectors but the white only does with the inner?

Yes...You are going to die...at some point, but probably not because of bad wire handling

    although.....

As I said... all it is is my laptops 3.5mm output, or an external pre-amp which isn't powering that much...

So nothing is going to melt here for sure, especially since these are passive speakers (don't have their own power source)
