    can this software help in cooling down a laptop???????????

    You can adjust the fanspeed there, but i dunno how it works, never used it.

    It can help by telling the notebook fans to kick in earlier and ramp up to higher speeds the hotter the notebook internals become. It's no substitute for a good notebook cooler but it is helpful in letting you know how hot your PC runs on full load and whether you should do something more to cool the temperatures down (clean fan vents, undervolting etc.)

    Edit: I don't use speedfan since my Vostro supports I8kfanGUI, but the principles are the same.

    Speed fan works on about less than 1% of notebooks... If you want to cool your notebook then look at cooling central everything you need is there
