Hello all,
After a long period of deliberation, I've finally ordered a 100gb hitachi 7k100 7200 rpm HD to replace my achingly slow 4200 rpm fujitsu drive. I just picked up the laptop a few months ago, but unfortunately the drive was not very up to-date. Not that gaming is my thing, but things like half-life 2 took forever to load and suffered stuttering big time.
Tigerdirect.ca finally had them in stock, and for only 8 dollars more than the 80 gb model. I also picked up a 2.5" enclosure for the old drive, and so I can clone the disk. I'm going to try using xxclone, for freeware it seems pretty solid and can do what I need (usb support, no need to run through DOS).
I'll keep everyone posted (if anyone actually cares) and write up any difficulties I may encounter.

Iceman0124 More news from nowhere
Tiger is a good company, they arent always the cheapest, but they do usually have decent prices and their support is top notch.

I got the 80gb version a while ago for my notebook, and startup and program load times decreased noticeably. I was glad I did it.

yea TD is a good company, fast on shipping, a little bit more expensive and they have less to choose from - I also upgraded to the Hitachi 7200 60gb - was very happy with the results

As said, TD is a good company.
Just avoid their rebate offers. -

I avoid every rebate offer unless its of the instant variety.

Here in Canada there are few discount online dealers, and TD is the best. Unfortunately newegg won't ship here. TD wanted $152+ tax and shipping for the drive, the next best price here was around $200 +tax and shipping.
Well it should arrive on monday next week. I probably won't have a chance to install and clone my drive until next weekend. I will do a few tests before and after I switch and post results, nothing too fancy. I'm thinking:
HD Tach drive tests (e.g. avg read, write, etc)
Time to load when starting
Time to open certain games
Any other suggestions?
