I bought a HP Pavilion dv6000 notebook recently. It's barely even been two weeks since I got this notebook. I spilled some Sprite on the keyboard by mistake. The keyboard is working fine, all the keys still respond fine. However, the 'r' feels a little sticky. Not surface sticky, I think some soda went under the key & it's causing the key to kinda-stick down each time it is pressed. Only slightly, I mean it's not really that annoying or anything but I just would rather have it be normal. Any way of cleaning up the keyboard or anything? Is it safe to remove the key & can it be placed back easily?

It's annoying, and you have to have a steady hand, but the keys do pop on and off.

Worst case is you could buy a new keyboard, I don't think they're that expensive.

Just be careful when you pull the key off. With regular keyboard keys, you just have to pry it off, clean it, then press em back in. laptop keys have a kind of plastic criss cross on the bottom, and I've heard it is hard to get them back in one they come off. On the plus side, as boonkauc said, replacement laptop keyboards are pretty cheap.

OK, the keyboard is "water" tight, well at least "Sprite" tight. Get a $2 pump sprayer bottle. Unplugged and battery out, set on thin stream spray in the area of the key, all while notebook is tilted to drain. Use a towel to catch excess. That might flush it.

Kinda scared to remove the key incase I can't pop it back on. Any online guides to that? I couldn't find anything on google.
powerpack, your basically saying to use a can of compressed air & to blow it under the key right?
