On my XoticPC order, I can get the standard matte LCD screen (60% Gamut) which is included in my laptop purchase or a glossy screen with 95% gamut for $30 more.
Would it be worth it to upgrade to 95% gamut but lose the matte screen? I will be using the laptop indoors all the time if that helps.
-
Only 60% gamut? Then I would consider buying the glossy with 95%.
-
Or buy the 95% matte for +$95 more is best option.
-
-
95% glossy since you won`t be using it outdoors

You can always get a $25 matte protector later if you want matte too. But to be honest, I'd try to come up with another $65 and get the matte screen. It's a small price to pay for something that you'll be looking at all the time unless you like glossy screens.
-
The 95% glossy screen will still look a bit better than the 95% matte, and If you're staying inside then there's not too much of a point to matte, unless you have insanely bright lights you can't turn off.
-
I'm biases so I would choose the matte with the 95% gamut but in your case, go with the 95% gamut.
-
Must say when you have a matte and glossy screen sat next to each other the matte is far more appealing, the fact you don't have to put up with reflections off lights, glass, windows, etc makes a big difference.
-
If you can get the 95% gamut matte screen, that would be the best of both worlds, but go with the 95% gamut glossy over the 60% gamut matte.
When I got my M4400 (refurb) I could have either gotten one with a matte CCFL-backlit display with 75% gamut, or a glossy RGBLED display with ~120% (?) gamut. I went for the higher-gamut display, because glossy isn't all that big of a deal, especially if you're getting super-vibrant colors out of the deal. -
I would prefer having a matte screen over a 95% gamut screen unless I was doing a lot of photo editing. The stock screen still looks incredibly nice.
Standard matte or 95% gamut glossy LCD?
