My D630 came with a T7100 (1.8Ghz) processor. When i open CpuZ, the frequency changes from 1.8 to 1.2 and then back to 1.8. The multiplier changes from 9x to 6x and back to 9x. Is it normal?

I ran Sandra Arithmetic benchmark and the results are very strange. My Dhrystone ALU gave me about 13.558 MIPS. According to another T7100 review it has to be about 16.000 MIPS. Whetstone is ok and the other CPU test too. Can my CPU be damaged?

yes this is normal.......this is due to the intel speed step architecture which gives full power to cpu only when needed to save power and heat

Not strange at all, actually it's quite normal.

    Google intel speedstep.

OK about speedstep, but what about the SAndra arithmetic benchmark?

All boxes are checked. Note is AC powered. All power savings are disabled. All performance settings in Bios are enabled.

Only a guess but what are you running in the background? And are you using Vista? I have heard people say some anti-virus (Norton) are resource hogs.

I run XP SP2 and NIS2008, but I don't think this is the problem, cause all other tests results are OK, only the dhrystone is strange.
