I changed the LVDS cable on my Dell Precision M4600. This was the Dell part (exact part with webcam).
After changing it, I get a strange buzzing noise when I connect in the monitor. I have 2 panels:
On one panel, an IPS panel, there is a faint display on maximum brightness, but it doesn't boot into Windows. On the other, the stock TN panel, there is no display, but a loud buzzing noise.
Is this because I didn't connect the cable correctly or is something not grounded? Could a short have damaged the motherboard itself?
Edit:
When I tried it, the laptop could feed to an external monitor perfectly.

It could be that the cable isn't connected properly or it could be a faulty cable. Also, doesn't the IPS panel use a different connector to get the 10-bit primary color signal (assuming it is the PremierColor IPS)?

It's not a Premiercolor, but I will try taking it apart again later to see if it is the connection.
Strange buzzing noise when I change the LVDS cable - no display
