I have a Gateway P7811 FX that I got about a month and a half ago. I could only find one malfunctioning pixel when I got it, which is fine on such a large screen, but I've now noticed another problem. There is a very small section, about 4 pixels in size, that is brighter than the rest of the screen. But it isn't the pixels that are brighter, it's the backlight. I can tell because if I move my head around, the bright spot is clearly behind the screen, and the. Is this the kind of problem that will get worse with time?

perhaps, I still cant tell if you are describing a problem that some other gateway owners have described, check it out in the p7811 FX lounge in the gateway forum, Im sure you will get more help there

If possible I would just try to get it replaced under warranty (sometime before warranty) so you dont get a defective screen issue when you are out of it.

Maybe that's a good idea (the warranty thing). If I do that, I might try to get the graphics card replaced too. I think I might have damaged mine when I forgot to disable screen saver, which heats it up to past 90C for some incredibly stupid reason.
