I have 64 BIT Windows 7 HP and have 4gb 1333 mhz ram installed.
I had 4 gb memory allocated all the time but today I noticed some lags in my pc. Som when I checked the memory utilization, it was almost 80%. So, when I went to my computer, I saw this:

    http://img217.imageshack.us/img217/8644/27381764.jpg

I have hybrid SLI enabled and there was no issue until today.
    Any idea or suggestions?

Did you just enable Hybrid SLI? It could be TurboCache kicking in. Even if it did though, it would not eat over 2 GB of System RAM.

I have been using this system for around 6 months.
With 32 bit, I used to had similar screenshot.
But with 64 bit, I didn't expected that.
It just showed today while I have hybrid enabled all the time from the day I got my system.

Yeah the reason why you got 2.25 GB of RAM getting all gobbled up is that the integrated nVidia GPU is using TurboCache and it is taking all the System RAM for itself. Just disable HybridSLI (I assume your dedicated GPU is powerful enough to game on) and you should get full the 4 GB of RAM back in your hands.

If not, then it must be something else going on, like one of your RAM Modules is not seat properly into the socket or sometimes you need to switch the RAM modules, so each module is plugged in the other port. If that doesn't work, you must got one module of bad RAM, but I doubt it.

I know that but how it started from today??
Strange...lets see if it works after turning off the integrated gpu.

How long since you switched to x64 since you said that under x64 prior to today, it was utilizing all 4 GB of RAM right?

    No error or anything.
Today I noticed some lags so when I checked resources used, it was almost 80%.
I thought of some viruses but when I went to my computer, I saw the screenshot.
Its acting as if I have 32 bit OS.

Could it be defective ram just in case?

Well, yes. Totally. I have 2 MBs of my ram that is dead now. I mean, it is no big difference to me. But if it is some kind of software problem, you would have to check.

I can see 4 gb but it is less allocated.
So, I dont understand how can I call it defective?
And if I call DELL, I will have hard time making them understand.

Well in the first case, how many DIMMS you got? Is it a 2x2 GB or is it 1x4 GB? If it is one DIMM, then you can say that my RAM is defective in that I only got 1.75 GB of usable RAM out of the 4 GB I suppose of have gotten and my system is really slow. If it is 2 DIMMS, say the same thing but you have to assume only one of the two DIMMs is corrupted, so you want the defective RAM module to be replaced.

Dell will often believe you that your RAM could go bad. The user really can't really tamper with RAM Modules in the normal sense (unless you are the hardcore overclocker that does physical mods to overclock RAM) so Dell would usually be convinced if the RAM goes iffy. RAM Modules don't always come out of the box problem-free and it is often a common problem. So they should believe you if you state the point.

Then again, if one of your RAM (or the one) is failing, then you should be getting crashes, freezes and BSODS. The one case I had defective RAM being used in my system, I started to get lots of BSODS, unable to boot into Windows, crashes and freezes. Stuff like that.

Still, I assume that turning off HybridSLI didn't do the trick?

Just tell them that it says only 1.75 gb is usable, out of the what should be 4gb. Yes, give a screen shot of the CTRL-ALT-DEL menu, under the performance tab. I want to see what Physical and Kernel Memory say.

Sure enough. Anyway, if the new ram fixes it, then good, other wise a reinstall is in order, although I have this problem, and re-installation does not fix anything.

On your screenie, you stopped 1 tab short. Look lower right on your screenshot and hit resource monitor then screenshot it. Thanks.

Well, actually that was what I asked him to get... Those total memory values, and such.
