Can someone suggest a good place to buy a dell battery? (specifically for the D630). Is there a reasonable resource online? I do not want to buy a $135 one from Dell, but on the other had I am concerned about the $30 ebay ones. Is there any fair place in the middle?

    thanks

Look for an eBay seller with a genuine Dell one and located in the US (assuming you're in the US). Don't be afraid to ask a seller for a picture of the actualy battery, including the Dell part number and logo. That will weed out most of the "Genuine OEM" ones that aren't.

If you're patient and wait, decent deals on genuine Dell ones will show up on eBay - I got a pair of new-in-the-box 9-cell Dell batteries and an AC adapter for $150, when Dell wanted $179 for a single 9-cell battery. [The seller had Dell replace his PC with a different model as a lemon, but he got stuck with the extra batteries and AC adapter because he didn't buy them on the same order as the lemon PC and they didn't work on the replacement system Dell sent him.]
