I used the search, but found a huge jumble and couldn't find a good and recent post.

Anyway, I'm trying to have some minor repairs done for my trusty Lenovo Flex 3 1480. Basically, one day the screen stopped working. As it is a flex laptop that can be flipped to be a tablet, I figured it was a loose cable. I opened up the laptop, which was surprisingly more of a todo than my previous laptops. The cable to the screen had come loose so I tightened it back up. I tested the screen and it worked. I went to close the whole thing up, but the back cover of the LCD would not longer snap shut. I let it sit for a while and today decided to try to get it to shut... and broke the glass of the screen.

So after some research, I found the glass crack is just the touch screen digitizer glass plus the bezel assembly. One part and costs around $50. I also figure that I cracked some of the plastic on the LCD back cover that would have snapped the digitizer to the cover. So at minimum, those parts must be replaced.

While looking around, I saw replacement parts in different colors for this laptop. As it is my wife's laptop, I asked if she would like to change colors. She really liked the look of the white laptop I have, so we are going to do that. There are LCD back covers and bottom cover kits in white for about $50. Putting on the different colored parts wouldn't add any steps as those parts are taken off during the process anyway.

Separating the digitizer from the LCD screen (which is in perfect working order) is just a matter of using a heat gun on the double sided tape, then regluing a replacement in AFAIK. There is a tear down vid with every step here:

Does anyone have a repair guy they could recommend or someone want to take this on? I usually do stuff like this myself, but I already broke it once :p

    Thanks!
