Interesting. However, I just can't see spending over $200 for 64GB of storage.
-
...on a netbook that costs less than $200 en totale.
-
LOL! No kidding. That didn't even cross my mind until you brought that up. Kind of like spending $5,000 on ground effects, rims, tires, and exhaust sytem on a 1981 beat-up Honda Civic with a stock engine that has over 200,000 miles on it.

And people do it, and people will defend putting a $700 SSD in a $400 netbook, trust me I already had a debate about it in another thread....
There angle will be that you already saved enough money to be able to spend more, or why should you sacrifice a fast system speed just because its a cheap netbook.
Something along those lines. -
Yes ppl like me would do it...because Power Users like myself knows the reliability and performance of SSDs are worth it over any HDD out there.
-
Right. So for me to become a "power user" I have to upgrade a $200 mini-notebook with a $300 SSD. Sign me up!
-
lol SSDS are great but why dont you just boot the os on a usb stick.. isnt it the same principle?
-
cos it's not the same principle.
-
USB flash drives are much slower than SSDs, or even certain hard drives.
-
worlds fastest SSD for a machine designed for casual web surfing and email??
-
Well, hell yeah! From what I hear, it's the only way to become a true power user!
-
I'll excuse the ignorance and sarcasm for those who don't understand the benefits. You're excused!
-
I don't think that was neccessary. I think we are all quite aware of the benefits that SSD offers. However, we are also well aware that investing a $300 dollar SSD into a $200 laptop that is used purely for web surfing, e-mail and some light office productivity is a hard sell.
-
To me it would be like buying an HDTV cable package when you have a black and white TV.
-
don't forget you can use it in another notebooks. basically all it needs is a pci-e slot. imagine it in a clevo d901c. but there's market for this product otherwise it wouldn't be released.
anyway imo it's too expensive. price per gigabyte and performance are not very good. makes me think that it is a limited production made for some high-end eeepc users.
