Hi, I've have a vaio SZ650 for more than 1 year now (and hence no more warranty) and have recently acquired some problems with my left click touchpad button.

At first I had to push really hard in order for the computer to register a click. As this was annoying, I opened up the laptop and got underneath the touchpad button and cleaned it out carefully. There was a small particle which I thought was responsible for maybe the insensitivity of my left click.

Anyways, the first day after this 'repair' it was perfect and the left click was super sensitive. Now its been 3 days later, and the button is ultrasensitive : often when I left click it performs multi-clicks. This is extremely annoying because it opens any file I try to click only once on, I always have multiple internet explorers opening from one click on my quick launch bar, etc. Essentially I cannot single click, and always double click or triple click. This happens even if I hold down the touchpad button (i.e. it keeps clicking).

Has this happenned to anyone before, and any ideas on how to fix it? I'll try opening up again the laptop, but not sure what to do to make it less clicky. Thanks

maybe if you use the "click" on the touchpad instead of the button? but try cleaning it again as it is possible that something got lodged again or has it taken a knock or any vibration?

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately I really dislike the actual tapping. I am always tapping by mistake when tuping and hence have turned the feature off. I've run some more tests on my buttons since then, and it appears that when first turning on my computer the left click works fine, but after use (I guess heat) it starts superclicking... I am worried that I may not be able to solve this problem after all.
