    I've been looking for the past four months or so on what processors are supported by the Gateway P-6831fx laptop. I keep coming across conflicting data on what is and is not supported. I just hope someone can shed some light on this so I don't have to keep ripping my hair out over.

    Thanks

    The 667/800FSB CPU's. X9000 is the max, no quads.

    Yup to the above;

    Best values are T7500, T8100/T8300 and T9300

    What about the T9500 or similar processor?

    Yes but T9300 is much cheaper and the speed difference is negligent in gaming/overall use. Also cache does not play such a huge role, so you could just stick with a T8x00 or T7x00 processor.
