Hi, I just recently bought a logitech 5300e 5.1 surround sound system. I have been trying to set up the surround sound on my Dell 1720. It seems i can only get 2 channels for some reason.. In my drivers it will only let me keep it on stereo, there is no option for surround sound (sigmatel). I originally thought this was a driver problem, but i am not sure now. My laptop has "High Definition Audio 2.0". Can anyone help me get my surround sound working correctly?
    Greatly appreciated for your help,
    Thanks

You need either a set of speakers with onboard decoder that allows optical input for 5.1 sound like the Z5500 or you'll need to get either a PCMCIA soundcard or a exteranl USB decoder that have the 3x3.5mm jack to connect to your speaker.
