I want to put a survey on owners of 15" notebook or larger. I have bought a 15.4" Sony FZ that I have to return because the screen slightly vibrates when I type fast. I want to know if this is a common problem with 15" notebook or larger or did I just buy a bad notebook. I don't have this problem with my 13.3" Sony SZ and my older 10.4" Sony PCG-SR. Both notebooks have very thin screen so that's probably why they don't vibrate.
So, here's the poll. If you have 15" notebook or larger, does your screen vibrate when you type fast? I have very sensitive eyes so you probably need to really look for it.
Thank you.

Having a ThinkPad, no, my screen usually stays in the place in which I put it, and doesn't move at all, from there.

Dell Vostro 1500 (RIP) didnt shake while it lasted
Rental Dell Latitude V170 solider than a rock! -
since when did notebook screens vibrate? I havent seen such a thing even when typing fast
Must be a loose screw or the its not flat on solid ground -
It's normal for many 15,4"(+) laptops. Some have this problem instantly, some have it after one/two years of using.

I have this enormous heavy wooden desk that wouldn't move if a tornado hit. When I type on that, the screen does not move. When I type on my flimsier metal / glass desk, the entire desk shakes, which makes my screen shake as well.
Any chance you're typing on a surface that itself moves? -
no vibration here, nice and sturdy.

The only things that vibrate when I type super fast are my teeth.
But yes,my screen does vibrate if I type veeery fast, and the image sort of flickers like wavy patterns.
That's why when I feel the need to super fast type, I use an external keyboard. -
Are we talking about physical movement or screen refresh, both?

No................

I've never owned a notebook of any size which had a vibrating screen. If vibration is normal, then thank the typing gods that I'm such a lousy typist.

Mine stays in place very well but I have a cooling pad to help stabilize movement and good typing form.
It would also depend on your keyboard alot I would imagine, soft keys would require less force and thus less vibration.

Ha thats a cool name too.

mine neither. the screen seems to be fixed on to a frame well.

I have owned over 15 laptops, and the only ones with flimsy screens were the cheap old latitude c600 and c800 laptops. You can fix the hinges though, by tightening them up, adding more washers and so forth.
