    I have -
    Dell vostro 1500 with 2GB, DDR2, 667MHz (2 DIMM)
    HP dv5t with 4GB DDR2 (2 Dimm)

I want to swap memory between these two. I want to make my Dell more powerful. Is there any chance that I may fry something.
And yes I know how to open laptops.

The memory dimms are interchangeable, so you shouldnt have any problems switching the memory cards

The dv5t uses 800 MHz RAM, which though compatible, will not match exactly with the 667 that the Vostro uses.
