Hello everybody.
I just swapped processor from T2250 1.73 GHz to T7200 2.0 GHz.![]()
Now... what kind of temperature increase should I expect when going from 31W to 34W ?
And is 70 Celsius too much under continuous load ? Old processor was 62-63 Celsius under load. I probably put too much of thermal grease anyway.
Also, anyone had experience with IC Diamond thermal grease ? Was it so hard to spread ?

Try undervolting.
I upgraded from a Celeron M 420 (TDP: 27W) to a T7600 (34W), and saw max temps of 80*C. When undervolted, my max is 57*C on both cores.
You could try using Arctic Silver 5 the next time you remove the heat-sink. -
Yes, I'm just reading about undervolting
Correction: now max is 75 C...
I used old Zalman Silver 75AGS grease... -
So I got from inital 1.1875V to 1.0375V at max speed/multiplier which is 12x.
Lowest mp is 6x with 0.9500V.
Temp drop from 75-77C to 68C. Nice. And it's not over yet as I didn't test less Volts yet. -
you should be able to knock the voltages down to under 1 volt (0.950V) for most of the multipliers.
K-TRON -
Not every CPU can undervolt to the same level - test at EVERY step, even for just a minute, then give yourself a small cushion and give it the ol' overnight stress test.
Swapped to T7200 :)
