Sorry to ask this question but I can't find an answer to this. I've been searching for hours.
I have Lenovo s10 computer where its ethernet internally somehow got busted and no longer seems to work anymore (externally it looks fine).
I have another old computer (HP dv6000t) that has a working ethernet. I don't use ethernet on the HP because it's always using wireless.

I want to ask if its possible to manually take out the ethernet and all "ethernet goodies" from the HP dv6000t and swap/put it into the broken one of Lenovo's s10.

I just want to know what I will have to take out. Do I have to take out a chip or something?

Thanks guy. And any guide on swapping ethernet parts would be great!

    Thanks again in advanced!

I don't think it's going to be easy, if at all possible to do. I believe the chip for networking is soldered onto the motherboard. If it's just the external connector, then that can be changed, but since you said it was internal...

the ethernet is a motherboard thing on the s10 not just a card like the wireless, you would have to be good at unsoldering and replacing components most probably.

I guess use the wireless, use your warranty, or get a usb --> ethernet adapter.

There is no way to do that. The only way would be if all the parts were identical, and they are not.

Sad to say that laptop boards are not very customizable or are most of their components very replaceable. At least you were stopped in time.
