    Hi
I'm trying to swap the keyboard on a Lenovo C200 laptop from a UK to a US one. I've troubles with the Fn keys. Although the Fn keys' layout is different between the keyboards, I have to use the same combinitions of keys on the US keyboard as I do on the UK one to access the same functions. For example:

    UK keyboard - Change LCD brightness Fn + F10 & Fn + F11
US keyboard - Change LCD brightness Fn + Up and Down keys

Although they are different I still have to use Fn + F10 & Fn + F11 on the US keyboard to change the brightness.

How can I make the laptop detect the proper Fn keys' layout on the US keyboard?

Could there be some sort of language option in the BIOS? As I recall, those function keys are coded at the BIOS level, so if there isn't an option to change languages somehow in the BIOS, it might take a BIOS flash to change it.

I thought about the bios too. I didn't see any UK/ US option. I re-flashed the bios but that didn't help. I'm not sure if the bios I used was for a UK or US laptop. I'll check Lenovo website and see if I can find another BIOS.

    Edit:
I thought they had 2 BIOSes, one for UK and one for US keyboard. I was wrong as they have one BIOS for both models.

    Any other suggestions?

Hm. There's a hotkey driver update here, but it lists that the LCD brightness adjustments worldwide are the ones listed for the UK keyboard... could you maybe have gotten the wrong US keyboard?

I think I might have been sold the wrong keyboard. This is the one I bought:

They listed it as compatible with the C200 I'm trying to fix.

I'm afraid you've exhausted my store of knowledge. Try asking in the Lenovo subforum, maybe?
