I'm gonna buy a laptop now, then when OCZ core2 SSDs arrives, i wanna buy one to use as my main HD. Will i have to install everything from scratch, or is it possible to make an exact copy of my initial hard drive to put on the OCZ so that it starts up and runs as if nothing ever changed?

    Thanks all.

"Cloning" is the word. See this very quick guide.

Acronis is usually OK and the trial is fully functioning but Casper is even better. There is a trial version but it does not support volume resizing (but Vista is better than XP for disk management facilities).

The full version of Casper will let you clone from a bigger to a smaller disc (provided there is enough space for the files).
