I have a pair of logitech x230's... by default the 3.5mm speaker jack comes out of the right speaker. With my current setup, my notebook is docked on the far left side of the table.

Is there a way to switch audio output, whereas the left and right channel are switched, effectively moving the speaker cable to closer to the docking station?

--> The computer in question is the Thinkpad T43 in the sig. I believe i am running a "sound max" chip on the motherboard.

    Thanks,
    BankBen

This isn't really the right board for this... you might get better results in either the Lenovo board... maybe even the hardware board...

all you need is a 3.5mm extension. They are cheap (about $5) at your local RadioShack or TigerDirect store.

to clarify.... the "sound max" thing, whatever you may call it came soldered to the board. meaning it is an integrated chip.

    @ mikeymike
that would be my second alternative, i was hoping there is a simple setting i could change so that the computer would switch the left and right channels.

What OS are you running? Do you have a Soundmax settings program, either in your start menu or in the control panel?

If your sound card does not have the option to invert the left and right audio channels, then your only method is the 3.5mm extension suggested above and cutting it open and splicing left to right and vice versa. Crude, but...

On the other hand, have you tried physically changing the position of the speakers? Swap the left and right speakers around physically ;) Yes I read your laptop is docked to the far left of your desk but I think you need to give a little here
