I have a Lenovo e420s laptop and I have been considering SSD's for a while now.

The only problem is that I don't want to shell out money on a windows 7 copy and I don't know where to download all the lenovo utilities that came with my laptop.

So is it possible to clone the HDD content to the SSD?

    What do you usually do?

    Thanks.

It is possible to use the W7 license that came with your laptop to do a clean install on the SSD (which is recommended--cloning may result in some alignment issues, which in laymen's terms, means reduced performance). Check this link for details on how to do a clean install. You can then simply use Lenovo's System Update to download drivers appropriate for your ThinkPad (although you'll probably want to put the WiFi card driver on a USB to install first :p).
