    Hi!

my laptop (Compal IFT00, 3 months old) has come up with a new error everytime i switch the computer on . At first, i see the "PHOENIX LOGO" screen, and then it does a quick check up of the laptop components. However, it appears not to be right, because it says at the end that there is a "SYSTEM CONFIGURATION DATA READ ERROR. PRESS F1 FOR RESUME. PRESS F2 FOR SETUP"

i have tried resetting all Bios values without luck, even restoring the computer to 1 month ago. I havent installed any new drivers recently, what is going wrong?

Have you installed any new hardware since you purchased it? I would check the Compal forum to see if anyone else has had your same error, but it sounds like something is failing.

Sounds like the type of error you get with a dead CMOS battery. But that's highly unlikely with a three month old machine. Does your clock work?

I received the same error messages on my acer this morning, and it won't even boot to safe mode. Have you tried a bios update?

Please let me know if your problem has been solved. Did you do a bios update?
I`m getting the same error messages and it won't even boot to safe mode.
This happened after a forced shutdown
