When I ordered my laptop (MSI GT72 Pro), the specs I selected stated 1600MHz RAM and the GTX 980M 8 GB GPU. I just wanted to verify I did actually get what I ordered. Are there any software applications that would allow me to verify these diagnostics? Opening the GT72 is a pain in the .

I tried using cpuz and it thoroughly confused me. First of all, it said I had 4K MB of memory on my GPU, and I know for a fact I selected the 8 GB card. So... is this wrong? Could it be this program isn't configured to read more than 4 GB? And the RAM diagnostics were even more confusing.

    Any suggestions, please?

The GPU in GT72 has 8GB GDDR5 vRAM.. As for information about your system, try HWinfo 64's summary pannel..

In addition to the already mentioned comprehensive programs, you can also get a system diagnostic from your OEM. For example, Dell offers a pretty comprehensive one when you link to their website.

There are also a host of other indirect programs (like virus protection, Intel® Extreme Tuning Utility, etc.) that offer diagnostic as a part of their application.

Still, other applications like many from the Adobe products suite will give you very basic information on your graphics card, ram, and/or CPU
