    System still not recognizing RAM

    I upgraded my BIOS, Made sure both RAM sticks as well as both RAM slots do indeed work so it has to be something else, any ideas?

    Totally forgot to mention that, my bad =P. Its 2 1 gig sticks, started with 1 gig in it when i got the PC, only is recognizing 1 gig.

    Command prompt > Type MSCONFIG > Boot Tab > Advanced Options > Set maximum memory to 4096 > Apply and restart.

    I tried your way flipfire, However, it wont let me move the falue of maximum memory up, so i tried unchecking the box and restarting it, nothing different...

    Have you checked the manufacturer's specifications webpage for this information? It may not be possible no matter what you do.

    @ bog, No i didnt myself but last time i posted this someone on here did and said that it should be able to support 2 1 gig sticks, and in the manual it says how to upgrade RAM, so it should be able to

    @ Noterev, It wont go up at all, i got 2 1 gig DDR2 RAM sticks, made by "Kbyte"

    I just keep taking out the ram and installing it back until it works.

    I talked to gateway support, They said i might have to re-install windows, which im willing to do but only if it is a guaranteed fix, any way to check if its gonna work guaranteed?
