Got my T-9300 installed this morning..............extra special thanks to those that provided the disassembly guide, it was invaluable. I re-ran the Vista Experience score after the install and it brought all of my scores up............overall score now is a 5.0 (hard drive limited, still can't get the 7200s to work) but it brought Ram and CPU up 4+ points and the HD itself came up 2 points so I'm satisfied.

Again, thanks for all the help this board provided..............just wish I didn't need to ship it back to the States now to get these hard drives and Vista 64 installed, I wanna play games on it in the worst way now that it has the new processor in it. haha

What did you upgrade it from ? and which country do you live in ? If you can install a new processor i'm sure you can install new HD's and install Vista X64

I am deployed to Iraq right now, and I've been trying to get these hard drives to work for about a month now. haha

    I upgraded it from a T-7100.

Good question...............for whatever reason, when I put them in and boot from the install disc that New Egg sent me, they aren't listed as valid drives to install Windows on. I've tried loading the SATA driver from an external HD and it still wouldn't work.

I gave up on the x64 Vista and just tried to clone my existing drive onto the new drive and that didn't work either. My Toshiba hates me.

It's probably pissed that it's out here in sand land. When I opened it I literally had a pile of dirt and sand fall out of it...........and it's never been outside, the fine stuff just gets into everything even when it's in a building.

Tell me about it........it stays in my hooch when I'm at work normally, I have an older Toshiba that I use here at the shop.........it's about a year and a half old and it works great. The other one worked great too, I just wanted it better. hehe

Lol slim just stop abusing your laptops and I'm sure they'll cooperate. If you don't stop I'm gonna report you.

I'll do you a favour and take your 7200s off your hands free of charge.

I messed with it again yesterday afternoon..............the 7200's both work fine if I install them as the "D" drive and not the drive containing the OS, I have one in there now in fact..............but neither of them will accept the OS when I try to load it. Tried to install the drive into a Dell and load the OS on that computer and kept getting the same errors.

Heh, I ghosted an image from a Dell with XP on it to one of the drives, then installed the drive into the Dell and installed the x64 Vista onto the drive. It's working now, still tracking down a minor issue and I haven't tried loading any of my games on it yet though. Got an Nvidia driver to work with Rivatuner without using F8 all the time (not sure how I did it though :( )
