Will there be any noticable difference? I initially ordered a T2300, however, under Dell's Service Tag system it appears that they are instead shipping me a T2300E processor instead.

They are the same except the T2300E lacks VT(Virtualization). Unless you are interested in running multiple operating systems, it really wont have eny effects on your usage.

What about battery life? Is it increased? And is processing speed decreased?

AFAIK, aside from the missing VT hardware the T2300 and T2300E are identical... so performance and battery life should be the same.

The same thing happened to me so this really helped. But my service tag also keeps coming up with a pop-up to register for gold/platinum service (which I didn't get) so I wonder if it's wrong - the laptop won't be delivered to Thursday. Did you order a e1405, e1505 or e1705?
